A Message from Sean
Partnerships work best when schools learn from each other. This term we launched the Yadha Muru Professional Learning Forum, saw attendance lift with clear opportunities ahead, and shared resources that recognise cultural teachers as leaders. As reforms emerge, we back local decision-making to turn promise into practice.
Professional Growth through Partnerships
In the Alekarenge School and Trinity Grammar School partnerships, shared resources showed their strength this term. At Alekarenge, Trinity's teachers, wearing their green polos, worked alongside local staff to model the synthetic phonics approach in English, planning and co-teaching lessons day after day. Those three-week embeds were described by staff as "tremendously rewarding," and confidence in teaching the approach grew by watching it happen in real time.
Strengthening School Relationships
St Mary's College in Broome welcomed twenty-two Year 9 students and six staff from Chisholm Catholic College and Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School to co-develop a real-world STEAM project on food security and sustainability.
