In the Alekarenge School and Murray Downs School partnership with Trinity Grammar School, the focus is on what happens next, with staff working together through co-teaching and preparing for the rollout of InitiaLit in 2026, including purchasing the resource kits needed for classroom delivery. In the Dhupuma Barker and Barker College partnership, classroom practice shifted with the introduction of the Sounds Write program, with resources developed so foundational skills are transferable to Yolŋu dialects. In the Roseville College and Tennant Creek Primary School partnership, visiting staff brought practical supports to classrooms, including a large number of picture books and detailed lesson plans aligned with the text. In the Wadja Wadja High School andCarinity Education Rockhampton partnership, they appointed a Literacy and Numeracy Inclusion Coach, which is already benefiting students.

This term, Milingimbi School and Pymble Ladies’ College kept finding ways to learn alongside each other, even when they were apart. The Dhamilingu (Year 5/6) peer reading program piloted regular online sessions, with Milingimbi students sharing Yolŋu language and Pymble students sharing stories in English. On the ground, the partnership supported Milingimbi’s library project, with a Pymble librarian helping relocate books and source new resources for the renovated space, supporting better access to quality literacy materials.
