This term reminded us that partnerships grow strongest when schools commit to learning from one another, and that spirit has shaped everything that follows.

At Yadha Muru, we know our schools carry powerful stories and lessons, and there is growing interest in sharing these more widely. To meet this demand, we launched the Yadha Muru Professional Learning Forum, an online space where schools can exchange practice, challenges and successes. The first sessions were well received, with Q&As running so long we eventually had to wrap them up. Thank you to everyone who participated and look out for more invitations in the weeks ahead.

We have also recently invited you to hear our reflections and guidance regarding partnerships working together.  I will be delivering three seminars in mid-September where we will explore strengthening collaboration and cohesion rather than a ‘business-as-usual’ transactional approach. Please make sure you attend one of the sessions, as these conversations are central to the future of our work.

Three themes stood out this term. Attendance increased when students saw a clear opportunity ahead, whether that was through excellence in STEM or preparing for a trip beyond their community. Relationships were strengthened through moments shared, from NAIDOC celebrations to learning together
On Country. Teachers shared resources through lessons, new programs and seasonal calendars and worked towards recognising cultural teachers as leaders in their classrooms.
